The World Health Organization declared a public health emergency of international concern over the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo on Wednesday, July 17, 2019.

It comes after a new case appeared in the eastern Congo city of Goma.

Such a classification will trigger new funding, but the director-general of WHO said it is not about getting more money but for countries to help in fighting the disease.

The doctor said there is a vaccine but not enough of it has been made. Perhaps if the WHO had not denied ( 3 times) calling this epidemic an international public health emergency , the needed drugs would already have been made and sent to the DRC. The WHO has been severely criticized for failing to call this epidemic an international emergency many months ago. I guess if only 1100 + people have died, it is not a big concern to the WHO ! Perhaps if the people who died were members of their family, the WHO might have acted sooner !

Kushal Kumar says:

Democratic Republic of Congo ( DRC ) declared outbreak of Ebola on 1 August , 2018 , centred in the northeast of the country. During first eight months from August 2018 to about March 2019 , more than 1000 cases were reported in the affected region. However , during three months from April to June in 2019 , number of further cases reported were 1000 new cases, suggesting almost three times increase. Besides , the number of such cases notified since early June 2019 per week has remained still higher , averaging between 75 and 100 each week. These details suggest that Ebola spread alarmingly between April to June 2019 but the month of June showed more rise in comparison. Then comes WHO declaration in July 2019 of Ebola spread in DR Congo – a Public Health Emergency of international concern. In this context , it is apt to refer readers to this Vedic astrology writer’s predictive alert in article – “ World trends in April to August 2019” – brought to public domain widely in March and subsequently on 5 April 2019. The said alert had said that during a period of four and a half months from mid-April to August , particularly in June , in present year 2019 , more care and appropriate strategy may be called for in DR Congo also in relation to the following :-

“ 6. Health concerns among those who are prone to indigestion , gas formation in the stomach , WEAKENING OF PHYSICAL STAMINA OR IMMUNITY SYSTEM IN THE BODY , BLOOD IMPURITY AND THE LIKE MAY NEED PARTICULAR ATTENTION.” Since Ebola destroys immunity stamina or immunity system in the body which could be related to Ebola outbreak in view of vulnerability existing in DR Congo since 1 August 2018 , the alert can be construed to be meaningful.

Please take all the vaccines yourself and give pharma glutton the profit they want. That way the super bugs will be confined to use on the super ugly.

People there are resisting treatment cause they know the truth. You've poisoned folks in Africa for years. Time to throw the joy around and then you'll be really important when the pandemics hit.

You guys. Sure you'll be more careful than you expect other people to be.
Except for that one thing…you could be a liability to those in charge.

Monty Alb says:

I saw this coming when the disease jumped borders. It appears that there far too many groups of people in Africa that are not aware of how to control disease spread. Health education is severely needed but you would have to force it on them and it takes too long to take effect to be able to resolve ebola.

The unfortunate thing is that the population of Africa is growing so fast there may be a point where African countries have to consider intrusion by international health groups or more terrible local measures like military interventions. The one thing that might solve this is if we manage to become proficient enough at developing vaccines.
