An Ebola outbreak has been declared in the DR Congo. The World Health Organisation says at least one death has been reported. That’s been confirmed by the Health Ministry. Other reports indicate the number could be at least three. The case is in the remote north of the country. The DRC has in the past been one of the most efficient countries when it comes to containing Ebola outbreaks. It’s the first outbreak of the virus to be declared sine the West African outbreak, which killed more than 11 thousand people in Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone. The DRC’s last outbreak was in 2014. 42 people died. We’ll keep following that story for you as we get it.
