The Nigerian government has been asked to consider assisting other West African countries where there are still Ebola cases to ensure that the containment efforts in Nigeria were not overturned by new cases.

Ahead of the proposed resumption of schools on September 22, the President, Proprietors of Private Schools in Lagos State, Yomi Otubela, made the suggestion on Sunday on Channels Television’s programme, Rubbin’ Minds.

Mr Otubela stressed that if the Ebola cases in other West African countries are not contained, there are chances that another person already infected could come into Nigeria.

He pointed out that most private schools in Lagos State had put in place, facilities that would encourage regular hand washing and other good hygiene habits.
