Why does he use the exact same language as Obama officials – i.e. “heroes,
not pariahs”?

Dejay Rezme says:

I really don’t get the arguing against quarantine. Yes you are heroes but
yes you are a health risk when you return. How is this a discussion? Does
being a hero give you the right to kill people? Democracy Now is using a
STRAWMAN logical fallacy as a stupid headline here.
Two nurses got ebola from caring for an ebola patient in the US. Isn’t that
enough to show that ebola IS dangerously infectious? If even trained
healthcare workers in a US hostpotal don’t manage to contain ebola for
whatever reason? Don’t people see that ebola IS a real threat?

Jund Arbiter says:

So… what part of 21 say quarantine makes them pariahs? I am
immeasurably grateful for the service of health workers in west Africa, and
wanting to continue strict standards back in the US does not mean I respect
them any less. Why this guy thinks that requiring heightened standards to
ease the minds of arguably uninformed Americans means that Americans are
afraid of him or are disrespecting him is BEYOND me.

MMMGrower says:

Why is Democracy Now so focused on Ebola and recently returning health care
workers. We are talking about an extremely small number of Americans. A
couple hundred. The amount of time and resources being poured into this
coverage is frightening.

More important stories to cover DM.

MMMGrower says:

Hero’s do not ask to be called hero’s.

If this man wants to travel across the world to treat Ebola, that is on
him. I see nothing heroic about his act. Plenty of work that is done in the
United States and the health workers are not scolding us, demanding to be
recognized.

Where is the story about Obama saying the Keystone Pipeline was good for
the United States during his speech after the Republicans swept the
midterms. During the section of the speech where he brags about Americas
energy independence.

The opposite party of the president winning majority during the last two
years of a two term president has been common during the last few decades.
This is the time when you see the Republican and Democratic party lines
have always been imaginary.

Perfect storm to pass laws which only benefit the wealthy and further the
gap between the 99% and 1%. I’ll point to Graham-Leah bill in 1999 which
repealed sections of the Glass-Stegal Act. This directly led to bank
becoming “to big to fail”, economic collapse and eventual bailout. A
bailout for the bankers who defrauded Americans. A bailout which had no
strings attached and was not disclosed where the money went. This is due to
the Federal Reserve not having to answer to Congress.

navtel says:

allegedly died of ebola in the united states.. how can you believe
anything the US government tells you?

Bo Jangles says:

So happy no one died and it didnt apparently get loose in the wild. This
time. It could easily happen again and become permanently hosted by parts
of the North American fauna realm.
