The World Health Organization recently declared Liberia free of Ebola transmission — a significant victory against the virus that has plagued West Africa since last year. This was the deadliest and most widespread outbreak of its kind since the virus was first discovered in 1976. Ebola is a rare but highly fatal virus that is transmitted via bodily fluids of sick patients. It’s been more than 42 days since the last confirmed Ebola patient was buried in Liberia.
