The Federal Government of Nigeria has given the Lagos State Government the sum of N200m to help it combat the outbreak of the Ebola virus disease in the State.
The donation was announced by the Minister of Health, Onyebuchi Chukwu, who also confirmed other donations by the private sector to help the Nigerian government contain the spread of the virus.
The donation to the Lagos State government is however not part of the N1.9bn set aside by the federal government to tackle the outbreak of the virus which was imported to the country by the late Liberian-American, patrick Sawyer.
The Minister also disclosed that the United States government has donated 30 body scanners for measuring temperatures of people at the various ports of entry into Nigeria
