Some encouraging developments to tell you about on the Ebola epidemic in West Africa.
U.S. health officials say the outbreak in Nigeria and Senegal… appears to be over.
In a report Tuesday… the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said they observed no new cases of the highly contagious hemorrhagic virus… since August 31st.
Only one case was confirmed in Senegal… on August 28th… and that man had survived.//
But the outlook for other countries… particularly Sierra Leone and Liberia, two of the poorest countries in the world… remain dire.
The CDC said the number of cases has been doubling every 3 weeks… with more than 65-hundred people confirmed to have contracted the virus.
