Officials say the three day lockdown in Sierra Leone to tackle Ebola has been a major success, and there is ‘every possibility’ it could be extended. 92 bodies and at least 56 new infections were found over the weekend, with thousands of volunteers searching every home in the country to help stem the flow of infection. Residents were largely compliant with the plan, staying indoors and self-reporting possible cases of the disease. The West African outbreak is by far the worst on record, with efforts to reign in the epidemic increasing.
